Instructions for SunPipe Components:

1. Begin with a starter kit. The starter kit includes: one frosted inner dome, one clear outer dome, standard roof flashing, storm collar, hardware, dome seals & clamp, instruction guide, and an installation template.

2. Determine the length of pipe needed; The maximum practical length of the SunPipe-9 is 16 ft., and of the SunPipe-13 is 20 ft.

Measure the distance from ceiling to roof, then add an extra foot.

All pipes have a 2" crimp on one end and 'stovepipe' together to form the required length, so be sure to account for the crimp. For example, a 6 ft. pipe can be made of six 1 ft. pipe sections, three 2 ft. pipe sections, two 3 ft. pipe sections, or one 4 ft. and one 2 ft. pipe sections. Since each extension pipe loses 2" of its length to the crimp, the assembled lengths will be 5'2", 5'8", 5'10" and 5'10" respectively.

3. All kits are designed for use with roof slopes between flat and 6/12, and with ceiling slopes of 5/12 or less. If either your roof or ceiling has a steeper pitch, please call us Contact Us to discuss your individual application and necessary parts.

4. Choose a SunScoop if you wish to maximize light output. The SunScoop increases the light output by 150%+ during the winter solstice, and 10% during the summer solstice.

5. Choose elbows if you need to angle the SunPipe sideways (to avoid ductwork, for example). Usually, two elbows are necessary to install the pipe straight (vertically) through both the ceiling and roof - one for the top of the adjustment and one for the bottom.

6. We carry other types of domes and trim ring; if you are interested in learning about these options, please call us Contact Us.
